Ohio, OH

Ohio, the 35th largest and 7th most populous state in the United States, takes its name from the Ohio River which runs along the southern state line.  Ohio was the home of eight U.S. Presidents, seven of which were born in the state.  Ohio has long served as an important trade and transportation hub between the Midwest and the East Coast.

Ohio’s economy is very diverse with industry, agriculture, finance, and energy production all ranking as top contributors.  Ohio is regarded as a very business friendly state and is home to many large companies Proctor & Gamble and Goodyear Tire & Rubber.  The state’s long history supplies an abundance of historic sites and landmarks as primary tourist attractions.

Most of Ohio’s population can be found in the northeast, southwest, and central parts of the state around the major population centers including Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, and Cincinnati.
